Brooklyn, NY

Through change and tribulation, Brooklyn Remains.

Once the home of world movers and culture shapers like The Notorious B.I.G., Eddie Murphy & Basquiat, it still retains its vibrant energy and hunger for the cutting edge. A tick more relaxed than Manhattan, Brooklyn offers an escape from the hustle and bustle. Whether it be food, music, or art, Brooklyn will supply you.

Activities:

Relax in Red Hook - Red Hook feels like an oasis away from the city. Find peace down by the water and explore it’s many world class food options (Red Hook Tavern, Hometown BBQ, or Steve’s Authentic Key Lime Pie) and wash it all down with a Narragansett from the always welcoming Sunny’s Bar *Cash Only*.

Get fed at Smorgasburg - Saturdays at Marsha P Johnson Park or Sundays at Prospect Park, local vendors from around the city gather to serve the people an endless variety of food and drink.

Listen at Bar Lunatico - A small but lively Jazz club with fantastic food and even better music.

Dance at Nowadays - If you like to get down to great electronic music from sunup to sundown, there is no better place in the city.

Shop at Other People’s Clothes - With locations in Bushwick and Ridgewood (Queens-ish), this consignment shop has all the latest and greatest for a fraction of the price.

Food:

Nowon - Korean fusion restaurant in Bushwick that is a perfect handshake between Korean staples and New York Classics. You can’t miss their burger or Chopped Cheese Rice Cakes. ($$$)

Ms Ada - Infinitely satisfying Israeli cuisine in Fort Greene with best in class service. The whipped Ricotta and Chicken Shwarma are to die for. ($$)

Fini Pizza - Outstanding NY style pizzeria in Williamsburg that has my personal favorite slice in the city. The tomato slice is simple but mighty, boasting a world of flavor in an unassuming package. ($)

Place des Fetes - Quality through and through, this Clinton Hill wine bar has some of Brooklyn’s best wine and most sought after food. The Crispy Lamb Flatbread will leave you speechless. ($$$)

The Commodore - Part dive bar, part world renowned kitchen, this Williamsburg institution has what might be the City’s best Chicken sandwich along with a whole hoat of other can’t miss options. ($$)

Win Son - Both Winson Restaurant and Winson Bakery deserve a visit. The Sanbeiji Chopped Cheese made on a scallion pancake at Winson Bakery is unlike any sandwich in the city. ($$)

Rolo’s - Technically this juggernaut of American cuisine is in Queens, but Ridgewood might as well be Brooklyn. They’re most famous for their limited quantity burger and mouth watering green two sheet lasagna, but this is a place you truly can’t go wrong. ($$$)

Nene’s Taqueria - The Birria Bastion of Bushwick, Nene’s hand’s down has the best birria tacos in Bushwick. Even JJ Reddick agrees. ($)
